Directions To The HatcheryThe Oyster River Enhancement Society Hatchery is situated halfway between Campbell River and Courtenay on the east coast of Vancouver Island, about 5 km off the Island Highway.
Turn onto Hamm Rd. from the Island Highway (right if coming from Campbell River, left if coming from Courtenay), then almost immediately turn right onto Macaulay Rd. After 2.3 km you will see the BEAR CREEK PARK sign on the right side of the road. This is the entrance to the hatchery. Enter the Park until you see the Yellow Gate. Vehicles are required to park in this vacinity and you will continue by foot through the gate and down the hill to the hatchery. Once down the hill and across the bridge, signs will direct you to the hatchery. Since this is a gravel road with a hill it is a good idea to wear good walking or hiking footwear.
