Oyster River Enhancement Society
Our Mission is to enhance, restore and protect the fish and wildlife habitat on the Oyster River.
Who We Are
The Oyster River Enhancement Society (ORES) was formed in 1983 by a small group of concerned citizens in an attempt to revitalize the decimated Oyster River. Since its inception, the membership has grown significantly and now members come from all over the Regional District and beyond. Volunteers have made this society what it is today with thousands of hours of dedicated effort. The river now has healthy salmon, with escapement near historic levels. Steelhead and Cutthroat Trout numbers have also rebounded.
How To Get Involved
There are many exciting ways to get involved in this society. We have education programs, volunteer opportunities, events and an amazing environment to spend some time exploring. You can become a member or just volunteer for a few hours each month. If you own a business or you are involved with a common interest group you will be interested to know that we offer a variety of sponsorship packages. Find the best fit for you and enjoy the amazing Oyster River ecosystem.
