We have had a very successful winter and the outbound migration has already begun. The Pink hatch went well and they are already on the start of their life's journey. The Chum have hatched and all but a few of the late capture are in the pond. They are gaining weight fast, so it won't be long before they are released as well. The pond won't be empty for long as the Chinook will be transferred from the cap troughs and call it their new home.
This is one of the busiest times of the year as every pond and trough is being used so the daily feeding and cleaning takes a while. Volunteers are needed for Thursdays, Saturday and Sunday to come in and feed, if you can help out please drop us a note and we will add you to the schedule.
A special day is being planned for April 19. This is the day that we release the Coho that we have wintered over. It is one of our most rewarding activities, as you know we have devoted a lot of work to hold them and raise them to this stage. If you would like to see this live stop by on the morning of the 19 and check it out.
Don't forget to check us out on Facebook.
